How did Crowd Ox Start and Why?
Crowd Ox began when two software developers, Aaron Hansen, and Nathan Palmer, realized they had a viable solution to an existing problem for crowdfunded businesses. They knew their solution would help streamline the difficult process of going from a funded idea to a profitable business.
Aaron had directly helped run 3 successful crowdfunding projects. After success in crowdfunding, he realized that there just didn’t seem to be an easy process for the next steps. The surveys available to send to project backers didn’t allow for enough customization. Project creators couldn’t get the answers they needed from their backers.
There was no easy way to verify the shipping addresses or include new product offerings that would lead to additional sales and revenue. This was a big missed opportunity for creators who needed to raise more capital.
Aaron knew the right person to help him develop this software solution was Nathan Palmer. Nathan and Aaron had worked together for more than 10 years at several companies. Aaron and Nathan knew they could develop an affordable software solution that would automate and streamline the surveys while allowing for needed customization. This would give back valuable time to entrepreneurs with successful crowdfunded ideas. They needed to focus on producing the products they had promised to their backers and needed an easy solution for a survey that met their needs.
How does Crowd Ox know how to do all of this?
Here is some background on our founders’ expertise and work prior to starting Crowd Ox
Aaron Hansen and Nathan Palmer co-founded Crowd Ox in October of 2014. Prior to founding Crowd Ox, they had worked together for more than 10 years in software development. Aaron was already involved with Crowdfunding projects and Nathan had an extensive software development background. Prior to Crowd Ox, he led the development and operations of a global technology platform supported by multiple data centers that handled billions of transactions per month.
Nathan and Aaron worked on several projects together, they led teams of software developers at both MetaSource and SpruceMedia. At MetaSource, they were involved in BPO (Business Process Outsourcing). They helped to design and built a workflow system to import, scan, track, securely process, and transfer data between several countries and many large clients. At SpruceMedia, they helped develop one of the first social advertising platforms to work with Facebook’s APIs, and SpruceMail that allowed simple integration between email marketing campaigns, and product promotion and sales via Facebook advertising.
It is easy to see that their combined talents and experience are perfectly aligned to develop successful software solutions in the crowdfunding space.
