Delivered: Amateur Citizens Streetwear Apparel
“Delivered:” is a series in which we look at crowdfunded ideas that have successfully shipped to their supporters. We dive into the final product, after its long journey from concept to fulfillment.
Amateur Citizens is a clothing label on a mission to spread a message to the world that they are “Blind to Color”. This means “we should not see the differences in people, but the similarities that tie us together”. The clothing company was started by Leyton Lavigne who lives in a small town in Louisiana–proving that true fashion can come from anywhere. Their mission is to touch as many lives as they can in a positive way and create stylish streetwear in the process.
Leyton Lavigne’s vision with Amateur Citizens is designing clothing to inspire the opportunity for conversations that lead to change, and open the door to understanding between people of every background regardless of their color. He wants to connect and unify people from everywhere. Their message is “Blind to Color” because everyone deserves an equal chance.
“An Amateur Citizen is anyone who decides to break out of the box society has in place for them and take a chance toward their own dreams. It’s a collective group of people who come together to push each other toward a common goal of self excellence to all who join the family, excluding no one, making sure everyone has equal opportunities to achieve their goals without racial profiling.”
Amateur Citizens has a variety of fashionable items to choose from. They are most known for their twill trademark in the bottom left of all of their clothing. They offer a colorful line of t-shirts, denim jacket, and hoodies. All of the clothing items are high quality.
