Delivered: Tug n’ Brush
“Delivered:” is a series in which we look at crowdfunded ideas that have successfully shipped to their supporters. We dive into the final product, after its long journey from concept to fulfillment
The Tug n’ Brush is a new toy for your dog that also acts as a toothbrush. Most dogs that have bad breath usually have poor dental care. Cleaning their teeth regularly can help prevent the odor from developing and also remove any food particles that are stuck in your dog’s teeth. Canine dental care can be very costly but with the Tug n’ Brush it is easy to fit everyday cleanings into your routine.
The Tug n’ Brush looks like any other chew and tug toy that you would use to play with your dog. But the round toy is filled with bristles that can help my dog to brush their teeth. There are ropes on either end that make it fun to start a game of tug of war. It is easy to throw and easy to clean. Just simply run it under water under the sink while tugging on the rope.
Brushing my dog’s teeth regularly removes tartar and plaque that can effect their health. By not taking care of my dogs teeth it can start to effect the rest of their body. Brushing regularly prevents heart disease, arthritis, and multiple other complications. I used to have to hold my dog down and hold their mouth open. It was painful for my dog and I felt that it was not a very positive solution for making sure that I took care of their health. By using the Tug n’ Brush I have created a positive way that I can take care of my pet without feeling like I am hurting them.
Periodontal Disease is one of the most prominent diseases to affect dogs. Brushing their teeth stimulates the gum and cleans the tooth in the same way that brushing your own teeth does. The Tug n’ Brush works because the center of the cylinder is equipped with doggie tongue scrubbers that are also designed to freshen your dog’s breath. As the dog bites down the soft nubs gently massage your dog’s teeth and remove gunk and grime. To find out more about the Tug n’ Brush or to view their Kickstarter please visit the links below.
