“Delivered:” is a series in which we look at crowdfunded ideas that have successfully shipped to their supporters. We dive into the final product, after its long journey from concept to fulfillment.

While most people think of good photography as crystal clear photos and life-like images, they don’t realize the lost art of pinhole photography. Thingyfy created the first-ever pinhole zoom lens designed specifically for video production and art photography, allowing you to take photos the same way photos were taken hundreds of years ago.

The Pinhole Pro X 18-36mm lens joins the family which includes the Pinhole Pro and Pinhole Pro S Series. Every lens captures a 0.25mm precision pinhole aperture. Its fully aluminum body is cut from a single piece of aluminum which offers an end product non-replicable with other lenses. Thingyfy uses a robotic drill to create a perfectly smooth and round pinhole aperture.

Every new lens brings with it the skills a photographer needs to take their art to the next level. By using a technique that has been around for hundreds of years, once you master pinhole, you can master any other lens. The lens brings a charm of naturally vintage photos with saturated colors. Photographers looking to branch out into this style of art will appreciate how Pinhole Pro X allows the modern technology of today while bringing in the style of decades past.

The Pinhole Pro X offers a 2x zoom that allows for cinematic effects that only come from the unique pinhole style. Thingyfy saw an opportunity to build a pinhole lens that was beautiful and high quality and the result was the world’s first-ever multi-aperture pinhole lens that supports almost all digital cameras with interchangeable lens including DSLR, SLR, and Mirrorless.
