Game On” is a series in which we examine the companies, creators, and games in crowdfunding. We look at the journey, ideas, and concepts the creators wanted to bring to market with their product.

Egor Klyuchnyk is a professional illustrator who wanted to bring his latest art project to life. He created A.D. 2.222, a giant cyberpunk character poster, that consists of famous characters from games, movies, books, anime, comics, and manga. He has sculpted, illustrated, and designed for several different games and continues to add to A.D. 2.222 each week. Anomaly World is a project created by Egor in 2012 and since then they have created 11 playing card decks, over 12 posters, several successful Kickstarter campaigns, books, figures, and other illustrations and commercial artworks.

A.D. 2.222 was launched on Kickstarter in September 2019 and was fully funded in three hours. Throughout the campaign, Egor played “Guess Who” games with backers where they had to guess the name of the chosen character within the poster. Two major stretch goals were met. The first, a cyberpunk sticker set for all physical copies of the poster, and the second was a set of two enamel pins. By the end of the campaign, 452 people pledged AU$25,810 to make this giant poster come to life.

The backstory: It’s the year 2222 and as a result of disastrous corporate cations, a collapsed inter-dimensional portal brings all realities into one dimension. The result? Chaos as over 200 widely known characters, vehicles and items collide into one space. The 20” x 38” poster features more than 175 characters and 43 items. Characters come from popular movies, TV shows and comic books like Star Wars, Diablo, Family Guy, Super Mario Bros, Batman, and The Emperor’s New Groove. It’s fully hand-drawn and is printed on high-quality 130G gloss paper. Each one signed and numbered by the artist.

A.D. 2.222 is set up for augmented reality and fans can unveil new secrets and references using AR functions on their phone or tablet. There are five different points of interest on the poster that users can view through their devices.
