“Delivered:” is a series in which we look at crowdfunded ideas that have successfully shipped to their supporters. We dive into the final product, after its long journey from concept to fulfillment.

The YESbrella is a mini reverse umbrella that offers more than just coverage from the rain. This small but mighty umbrella is stronger and lighter than other umbrellas and offers a reverse-folding design that leaves the wet side of the canopy contained inside when closed. Now you don’t have to worry about getting your clothes, bags, or car wet when collapsing.

One of the most inconvenient things about umbrellas is after they do their job of keeping us dry outside, they usually get us wet when we’re inside again. I love the idea of a reverse umbrella, and the YESbrella has a 1-second auto close function and inward folding function so I can close it that small gap of a car door without getting stuck. It fits perfectly into my seat side pocket and I don’t have to worry about any of the water dripping out. One of my favorite features is the button that automatically closes it in one second, so I don’t need a free hand to collapse and move on with my day.

YESbrella is made with a carbon fiber frame, which is usually found in aerospace and military products. Most umbrellas are made with iron or aluminum that easily rust or bend out of place. Knowing this umbrella is strong and secure means even if the canopy is blown inside out, the automatic close function still works and can quickly go back into place. I appreciate the handle design that makes it easy to carry, and I can even hang it on a wall hook next to my keys and purse, so I don’t forget it on my way out. The functionality wouldn’t matter if it weren’t big enough to be useful, which is why I love that the canopy coverage is 15-20% wider than average umbrellas and can easily fit three.

Other great features are the UV protective fabric that keeps me cool when using it for shade and the water repellent canopy fabric, so water doesn’t have to be shaken off before closing. The YESbrella comes in 6 fun colors and weights just over one pound. It has eight umbrella ribs and can handle up to 8 force strong winds. When open the canopy is 44 inches cide and the handle is 31.9 inches long. Collapsed it is 21.1 inches long and 2 inches in diameter.
